Awareness workshop on Energy Conservation & Energy Efficiency held

Mysuru: An awareness workshop on Energy Conservation and Energy Efficiency was organised by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL) in association with ISHRAE, Mysore Chapter and  Mechanical Engineering Department, Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT), sponsored by Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Government of India, recently.

The workshop was inaugurated by D.K. Dinesh Kumar, Technical Officer, KREDL.  Addressing students, he said that everyone must realise their responsibility to pass on a pollution-free environment to our next generation and also receipt on the importance of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation to ensure that the future of our planet is safe.

Dr. B.G. Naresh Kumar, Principal, MIT, highlighted the role of individuals in conservation of energy.

Dr. S. Murali insisted that there is need to produce more Renewable Energy to meet the demands required for overall development of the country. Otherwise, we have to pay for it in future, he cautioned. 

Over 100 students and faculty members participated in the programme. Later a technical quiz was organised for the participants. First round was written quiz for 30 marks. Top eight teams participated in stage round and top five teams were awarded with certificates and solar lanterns. Dr. Mohamed Khaisar, HoD, Mechanical Engineering Department, Prof. G.D. Chethana, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculties and ISHRAE members were present.
