Mysuru:  L.B. Akshay, a class 8 student of Sri Sharada Public School, Mysuru, has secured International Rank 3 in the International General Knowledge Olympiad exam conducted by Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF). He also bagged a bronze medal, merit certificate and Rs. 10,000 cash prize.

Students from over 45,000 schools of 1,400 cities across 30 countries participated in six categories of SOF Olympiad exams during 2017-18. In all, around 45 lakh students appeared in the 2017-18 Olympiad exams of which there were 19,823 students from Mysuru.

The top 25 Principals and top 50 teachers — from 30 countries — whose students put up an exceptional performance at international-level, were also felicitated with cash awards, mementos and citations.

SOF conducts six Olympiad exams including: National Cyber Olympiad (NCO), National Science Olympiad (NSO), International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), International English Olympiad (IEO), International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) and International Company Secretaries Olympiad (ICSO).
