BAI to celebrate Environment Month from June 3 to 30

Mysore/Mysuru: As part of World Environment Day, Builders Association of India (BAI) Mysore Centre, in association with the Mysore Builders’ Charitable Trust (MBCT) will be celebrating Environment Month from June 3 to June 30 in city.

The Environment Month with the theme ‘Only One Earth,’ will be celebrated by organising exhibitions, competitions, awareness programme, trekking,       marathon etc.

Addressing a  press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan yesterday BAI Mysore Centre Chairman Elect Nagaraj V. Bairy gave the list of events which is as follows:

June 3: Environment Month celebration inauguration will held at 6.30 pm at the MBCT Auditorium in Vishweshwaranagar in city. Green Oscar Awardees and wildlife photographers Krupakar and Senani will be the chief guests. Jungle Lodges and Resorts, Bengaluru, Managing Director Manoj Kumar will be the guest of honour.

June 5, 17th & 28th:  Planting of saplings at various localities in and around Mysuru. For details, contact Mahabaleshwara Bairy on Mob: 94480-52559.

June 11 and 12th: ‘My Green,’ an exhibition of eco-friendly construction products and green lifestyles will be held at Nanjaraj Bahadur Choultry near Metropole Circle in city between 10 am and 9 pm. For details, call A.S. Yoganarasimha on Mob: 99805-56777

June 14: ‘A day with Homemakers,’ an awareness programme on green initiatives which can be adapted by homemakers at their homes will be held at MBCT Auditorium, Vishweshwaranagar in city at 10 am.

June 19: ‘Green Cyclothon-Chamundi Challenge’ will be taken out from Chamundi Hill entrance arch at 6 am. The cyclothon will be held in order to conserve the environment by reducing carbon emission and also to encourage people to stay fit and healthy.

June 21: Builders Association of India, Mysore Centre members will take part in the International Yoga Day celebration at 6 am which will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi at Mysore Palace premises.

June 26: ‘Bai-Bairy Builder- Green Marathon’ of 5 km and 10 km will be held from Open Air Theatre, Manasagangothri campus at 6 am. Drawing and painting competition for school children studying between 4th and 10th grade will be held at MBCT Office in Vishweshwaranagar at 10 am. The topic for the competition is ‘Only One Earth.’

June 30:  The valedictory of the Environment Month celebrations will be held at MBCT auditorium in city at 6 pm. Historian Dharmendra Kumar Arenahalli will be the chief guest.
