BAI to hold series of events to celebrate World Environment Month from June 5

Mysuru: Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre, as part of World Environment Month will be conducting a series of impactful events aimed at raising environmental awareness and engaging the community across age groups and sectors from June 5 in city.

The celebration will be inaugurated with “A Day with an Icon’ featuring U.N. Ravikumar, former Director of CART, NIE, Mysuru, to inspire and ignite action among the citizens of Mysuru. A massive tree plantation drive across the city, emphasising BAI’s commitment to a greener future will be held on the occasion.

On June 8, ‘Walkatron,’ a public walkathon promoting health, nature appreciation and environmental responsibility, while drawing attention to the need for preserving our city’s natural heritage will be held at Chamundi Hill.

Recognising the pivotal role of families in environmental conservation, BAI has organised ‘A day with a home-maker’ on June 10 celebrating sustainable practices at home and empowering home-makers to lead green initiatives in their communities.

To nurture young minds and cultivate environmental consciousness from an early age, ‘Drawing and Debate competition’ will be held for children aged 6 to 15 years on June 15 at MBCT Hall in Vishweshwaranagar. These events aim to encourage creative and critical thinking about the importance of environmental stewardship.

Yoga Day will be celebrated with BAI members and their families on June 21.

The month-long initiative is being led under the guidance of BAI Chairman V. Srinath, Hon. Secretary C.D. Krishna, World Environment Month Celebration (WEMC) Chairman K.R. Prabhakara Rao, WEMC Hon. Secretary M.D. Praveen Pal and WEMC Advisor S.R. Swamy, with support from all Committee Members and Spoorthi Members.

BAI Mysore Centre has invited citizens, schools and organisations to participate actively in these events and contribute towards building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable Mysuru.
