BAI’s Green Hunt for Eco-Friendly Mysuru

Mysuru: Around 60 enthusiastic participants went on the 4th edition of Green Treasure Hunt organised by Builders’ Association of India (BAI), Mysore Centre, in city yesterday, as part of its World Environment Month celebrations. The event was flagged off by adventurer Tiger Solanki at the Mysore builders’ Charitable Trust (MBCT) premises.

The Treasure Hunt participants had to undergo several challenging tests en-route which took them very close to the rich nature available in the city of Mysuru.

One of the clues suggested them to visit the home of Sri Shyam Sundar of Susthira Trust, where they were asked to list out the energy efficient facilities adapted in this home.

The Green Hunters were also asked to download the Swachhata App developed by Ministry of Housing and Urban affairs, Government of India and upload the stinking garbage blocking the drainage at Lingambudhi and also WhatsApp the same to the Star of Mysore newspaper grievance number.

Seed balls of Honge trees which were given in a clue point were asked to be thrown en-route at a particular place. Also the participants had to list out the names of the trees matching to the respective Rashi and Nakshatra at the Rashi-Nakshatra Vana in Lingambudhi Lake.

The event was coordinated by Past Chairman of BAI Mysore N. Subramanya, Mahendra Reddy and Vani Subramanya.

Following emerged winners at the end point: 1st prize: Divya Ramachandra and J. Bhumika; 2nd prize: Kishore Rachaiah & N. Jaykumar; 3rd prize: Shawn & Vinay Amruth.

Special appreciation prizes were given to women participants Soumya Nandakumar, Indira Ramesh Babu and Sowmya Ananthashayana. Certificates were distributed to all the participants.

BAI Mysore Centre Chairman Subramanya Rao, Hon. Secretary BAI Mysore Centre Ajit Narayan, World Environment Month Chairman J.V.R. Naidhruva, MBCT Managing Trustee A.R. Ravindra Bhat, BAI Mysore Past Chairman S. Prakash, B.S. Dinesh, K.M. Raghunath, Praveen Pal and Ravishankar presented prizes to the winners.
