Bank Manager knifed for asking to repay loan

November 12, 2019

Madikeri: A Bank Manager was brutally assaulted with a knife for asking a man to repay the loan he had taken.

While the injured Bank Manager is Lokesh of VSSN Bank, the man who brutally assaulted him with a knife is A. Sabu, a resident of Kadagadalu.

Sabu had taken loans from Kadagadalu and Ibnilavadi branches of VSSN Bank a few years ago but had not repaid the loans despite the Bank staff and the person who had given surety for the loans telling him to repay the same.

Meanwhile, Sabu again went to the Bank to obtain loan during which the Bank staff told him to provide a blank cheque which irked him. He then went out, brought a knife and hit Bank Manager Lokesh behind his neck, injuring him seriously and fled from the spot. Lokesh, who collapsed on the spot, was rushed to Madikeri General Hospital.

A case has been registered at Madikeri Rural Police Station and the Cops have launched a hunt to nab Sabu.
