Bavaria Donau Cup Open Chess Tourney: Mysuru boy Vijayeendra loses to Lenart Uphoff of Germany

Mysuru lad Y.G. Vijayeendra, a former Karnataka State Champion, representing India in the Bavaria Donau Cup Open Chess Tournament in Regensburg, Germany, lost his sixth round game against Germany’s Lernart Uphoff. After six rounds, Lernart Uphoff of Germany leads with 5.5 points.

Vijayeendra is a close second with 5 points. He is followed by four players Ronald Schmid, Josef Kenewski, Huber Florian and Bernard Schmid (all from Germany) with 4.5 points.

In the final round on Sunday, Vijayeendra takes on Alexander Stadler (2129) of Germany.
