Mysuru: Every citizen in the country should become independent through dint of hard work and sincere effort, said Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade.
He was speaking after inaugurating pure drinking water unit set up jointly under Sri Dharmasthala Rural Development Project and Anandur Grama at Chikkanahalli in Mysuru taluk’s Yelwal Hobli, here on Friday.
There is no religion for the hard work of a man. One should have devotion to God. However, if one depends totally on the almighty without doing any work then it will not be of any use. One should make use of the opportunities available. Only by hard work, sincerity and efforts can one achieve something, said Dr. Heggade.
The unique feature of Sri Dharmasthala Rural Development Project is that the people are the stakeholders. 284 pure drinking water units have been opened in 56 taluks in 18 districts where there is drinking water crises. As a result 67,754 families are using daily 13,55,800 litres of water and keeping themselves healthy, he said.
Anandur Gram Panchayat President Ramegowda, members Vijaykumar, Ambarish, leaders Krishnegowda, Thammanne Gowda, Shivegowda, Siddegowda, Pappanna Gowda, Planning Officer K. Anand and others were present.
