Vasundharotsava-2023, an Indian Classical Dance & Music Extravaganza begins

Mysuru: Kamakshi Devi, daughter of erstwhile Maharaja of Mysore Jayachamaraja Wadiyar, opined that Bharatanatyam is just an art, but an art that describes universal beauty.

Kamakshi Devi was addressing the gathering during the inauguration of ‘Vasundharotsava-2023,’ an eight-day an Indian Classical Dance & Music Extravaganza from Nov. 4 to 11, organised by Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC), at Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha on JLB Road in city last evening.

“Bharatanatyam is an ancient Indian art form and the onus of conserving the same for posterity is on the younger generation. The said dance form has its own history, which has been conserved by our elders since long. Now is the time to keep it in perpetuation. Let Goddess Chamundeshwari bless you all,” said Kamakshi Devi.

Under her tutelage, the students will be enthralling the art cognoscenti for eight days. It is indeed a noble task that the Centre is training the students and providing a platform for them to exhibit their talent.

Vidushi Sandesh Bhargav and Vidushi Dr. Samyukta K. Urs will be performing Bharatanatyam this evening at 6. Daily various artistes will be presenting their dance performances between 6 pm and  9 pm till Nov. 11.
