Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana holds ‘Career Compass’ workshop for students

Mysore/Mysuru: Over 40 students from Grade 9 to 12 participated in the ‘Career Compass’ workshop organised under the aegis of Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana (BJS), Mysore Chapter, in city recently.

Chief Speaker  N. Ravi Shankar, CEO – Aim High Consulting, stated in his address that “Career building is a continuous process based on self-awareness, planning and constant learning.”

He added, “A successful career not only provides financial stability but also offers personal satisfaction and an opportunity to contribute to society.”

Shankar shared the following key principles for career growth:

Self-Assessment: Understand your interests, skills, talent and personality. Identify what you love doing and what your strengths are.

Smart Goals: Research industries and jobs based on your abilities. Set SMART goals for your career and create a plan to achieve them.

Skill Development: Beyond formal education, develop practical skills like communication and teamwork. Gain field experience through internships or volunteering.

Networking: Connect with professionals in your field and seek guidance from mentors. Use platforms like LinkedIn to stay updated on new opportunities.

Adaptability: The career path is not linear; change is possible. Stay flexible and adapt yourself to changing market trends.

Continuous Learning: Acquiring new technologies and knowledge is essential to stay relevant and progress in your career.

Positive Attitude: Patience, hard work and a positive mindset are essential for success.

The workshop commenced with Manglacharan. Vice-President  Kushal Palrecha chaired the programme. Ladies Wing Chairperson Sharmila Dhoka introduced the guests. Project Director Koushik Jain proposed the vote of thanks.
