‘Bhoomika Bhavaikya Mahila Siri’ awards presented to women achievers

Mysore/Mysuru: Marking International Women’s Day, Bharatiya Samskrutika Vikasa Vedike, Lions Club of Bengaluru, Sandalwood Celebrities, The Atria Boutique Hotel, Sri Talacauvery Mahila Shikshana Trust and Bhoomika Bhavaikya Balaga, had organised a function to present ‘Bhoomika Bhavaikya Mahila Siri’ awards to women achievers for their achievements in their chosen fields. The event was held at Jaganmohan Palace in city on Monday.

Writer and Poetess Dr. Latha Rajashekar presented the award to Government Assistant Public Prosecutor of Mysuru JMFC Court Sandhya Manjunath, Nayanakumar Hospital’s Dr. Kavitha Surya, Kaiyamballi Primary Health Centre Health Officer P.B. Jhansi and Trustee of Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill Savitha Ghatge.

Speaking after presenting the awards, Dr. Latha Rajashekar said that at present women have identified themselves in all fields and are contributing to the nation’s progress.

“Women need more opportunities in the society for their empowerment. It is commendable that achievers from social, legal and health sectors were identified and the awards were                                                                          presented to them.”

Prior to this, ‘Rajamate Kempa Cheluvajamanni Mahadwara’ was inaugurated by District BJP Mahila Morcha City President  Hema Nandish.

‘Sharane Akkamahadevi’ Auditorium was inaugurated by Women Sportsperson Rukmini Chandran and ‘Veerarani Kittur Channamma Kalamantapa’ was inaugurated by Bharatiya Samskrutika Vikasa Vedike Honorary President Dr. Nalini Thammaiah.

President of WISE (Women In Small Enterprise) T.A. Vasantha Kumari, entrepreneurs Ratna Shekar & Chaya Nanjappa, Vedike Hon. President Dr. B.S. Geetha Ganesh, Rajappa, Ln. Girish, Lions Club of Mysore Golden City Zone President T. Suresh, Thinker Indira Venkatesh and others were present during the occasion.
