Bihar boy dies as stone slab falls at a granite factory

Mysuru: A 17-year-old boy from Bihar, who had come to see his brother, who was working at a granite factory in city, was killed after a stone slab fell on him at the factory on Thursday.

The deceased boy is Sahanoor Alam (17), brother of Azarulla Islam, a helper at Maruthi Granite Factory at Maidanahalli in Yelwal hobli. On Jan. 19, his brother Sahanoor had come to city to see his brother and on Thursday, Sahanoor, who came to the factory, was standing and watching the crane shift huge stone slabs when a stone slab fell on him injuring his thigh seriously.

Sahanoor was immediately rushed to a private hospital and was later being shifted to K.R. Hospital but he breathed his  last by then.

A case has been registered against the factory owner and the crane operator at Yelwal Police Station.
