Mysore/Mysuru: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing the ideas of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya,” said State BJP General Secretary Siddaraju.

He was speaking at a programme organised by BJP Mahila Morcha Mysuru City Unit to celebrate Deen Dayal Upadhyaya’s 105th Birth  Anniversary and felicitate Mysuru Mayor Sunanda Palanetra at the BJP office in Chamarajapuram here yesterday.

“Deen Dayal Upadhyaya gave a strong foundation to the BJP and showed the right path to the party. On his 105th birth anniversary, we must follow his ideology and patriotism. Upadhyaya also started a newspaper called ‘Rashtra Dharma’ and he was the whole and sole for the paper. Once in childhood incident, dacoits attacked Upadhyaya’s house in the night, but he was not scared of them, instead transformed them by saying you will get nothing in our house”, said Siddaraju.

“Deen Dayal Upadhyaya had the power of transforming others, always worked towards the development of country. Now our Prime Minister Narendra Modi is following Upadhyaya’s path through implementing his ideas. COVID affected the whole world, but did you hear that people died because of hunger in our country? Modi did not allow anyone to remain hungry in the times of COVID, he distributed free ration to all poor people,” he added.

Meanwhile, Siddaraju gave a piece of advice to the first BJP Mayor of the City, Sunanda Palanetra, to work hard towards the welfare of Mysureans. Also, to complete at least 10 works during her tenure for the good of all. Both in Central and State, we are having BJP Government and party will always support her, he added. 

After the felicitation programme, Mayor Sunanda Palanetra said, “I feel extremely happy to receive the felicitation on the birth anniversary of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. I want to thank former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Minister S.T. Somashekar and MP Pratap Simha for supporting me. Will take every advice from senior leaders and work towards the development of the party.”

MLA Nagendra, who too spoke on the occasion, said that BJP is the only party which gives opportunity to a party worker to reach higher position. Everyone should learn from Deen Dayal Upadhyaya and follow his simplicity, he added.

Photo Exhibition

A photo exhibition of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also been organised at the BJP office where more than 50 photographs of Modi are on display. 

The expo is open for public between 10.30 am and 5 pm    till Sept. 27.
