BJP scoffs at Congress Govt’s ‘Sadhana Samavesha’

May 19, 2026

Mysore/Mysuru: Strongly criticising the State Government’s ‘Sadhana Samavesha’ being held at Tumakuru today marking three years of Congress Government, City BJP President L. Nagendra maintained that corruption, scams, debts and maladministration are the hallmarks of the Congress Government.

Addressing a press meet at the City BJP Office in Chamarajapuram here this morning, Nagendra wondered what were the ‘Sadhana’ of the Congress Government in the past three years.

“The people would like to know whether the Congress Government considers corruption, chaos, poor governance and the like as ‘achievements? Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar are vying for the CM post ever since the Congress Government came to power three years ago, while cabinet Ministers are making frequent Delhi trips in order to retain their post. This ‘circus’ has severely hit administration in the State with governance going out of control. Also, no development works or projects are being executed,” he maintained.

State in debt trap

Accusing the Congress Government of emptying the Treasury for implementation of its ‘Guarantee Schemes’, Nagendra contended that the State has fallen into a debt trap, with the Government borrowing loans running upto Rs. 5 lakh crore in the past three years.

Noting that several Ministers of the Siddaramaiah Government are  facing corruption and bribery charges, Nagendra alleged that the CM himself was embroiled in the multi-crore MUDA alternative sites scam. These are the real achievements of the Congress, he quipped.

Asserting that CM Siddaramaiah has done little for his home district of Mysuru, he alleged that the CM had failed in bringing any major industry to Mysuru. He also accused the Congress Government of doing only patch works during Dasara instead of asphalting the roads.

Nagendra also took a dig at the Siddaramaiah Government over rising crimes and failing Law and Order in the State.

BJP Spokesperson Mohan, who also addressed the press meet, wondered what all had happened to the much-hyped  ‘Model Mysuru’ plan.

Drug menace

Alleging that drug production and networks are active in the city, he contended that Siddaramaiah had turned a blind eye towards this menace and a deaf ear to continued protests over the establishment of NIMHANS-like Hospital at Gudumadanahalli coming under his Varuna Assembly segment.

Mohan also maintained that CM’s MLC son Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah was running the show as per his whims and fancies at Varuna Constituency that is represented by his father.

Former Mayor Sandesh Swamy, BJP leaders Vasanth Kumar, B.M. Raghu, Somasundar, Rudramurthy, M.K. Rajesh, Mahesh Raje Urs, B.M. Santosh Kumar, Karthik Mariyappa, Jagadish, Nandakumar, Shivaraju and others were present at the press meet.
