Mysore/Mysuru: As part of World Diabetes Day, the book ‘Madhumeha – Margadarshi Sutragalu’ authored by city’s noted Nutritionist Nandini Murthy will be released at a programme organised by Sunamshri Prakashana at Kirurangamandira in Kalamandira premises here on Nov. 14 (Sunday) at 5 pm.
Former Vice-Chancellor of University of Mysore (UoM) Prof. K.S. Rangappa will inaugurate the programme. Dr. K.S. Sadananda, Medical Superintendent of Jayadeva Hospital, Mysuru, will release the book. UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar will preside. Noted Diabetologist Dr. M.A.Shekar will speak on the book.
Nandini Murthy, in her book ‘Madhumeha – Margadarshi Sutragalu’ highlights how diabetes is affecting the health of people and how it can be contained through a proper diet. It also throws light on how people of the country are catching the disease through changing lifestyles, food habits etc.
The book explains how diabetes is an unseen enemy of the country as the number of people contracting diabetes is increasing by the day. Nandini Murthy, with all her experience as a Nutritionist, has narrated in a lucid manner on how diabetes can be prevented and controlled.
The book is not only interesting but also educative and informative on the disease. It comes in handy at a time when people are getting accustomed to a mechanical life and throwing healthy food habits to the wind.
