Mysore/Mysuru: Marking its 30th anniversary, various of homas and other rituals were performed at Vasavi Shantidhama on Nadanahalli road in Alanahalli extension, praying for ‘Lokakalyana’ and the welfare of Shantidhama inmates here on Sunday.
‘Savinenapugale Jeevana Saara’, a Kannada book written by Sri Vasavi Shantidhama Charitable Trust Hon. Secretary B.V. Srinivas Gupta was jointly released at the event by former Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Chairman Dr. Pradhana Gurudatt, Industrialist Dr. M. Jagannath Shenoy, former Regional Commissioner K.M. Chandregowda and Prof.Venkataramana Setty.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pradhana Gurudatt said that the author Gupta has explained in detail his experience over the years.
Observing that it is not easy to run a shelter home and that too a home for the elderly, he said that Vasavi Shantidhama is probably the best home care facility for the elderly he has seen. He suggested Gupta to write another book sharing the thoughts and experiences of the Shantidhama inmates.
Dr. Jagannath Shenoy, in his address, said he was happy to see that the elderly home is being run in a very good manner. Recalling that Gupta started the Vasavi Shantidhama at a low cost 30 years ago, he lauded the services and activities of Gupta in leading the Shantidhama.
A new cottage (NRI Cottage) constructed by writer Vijaya Chandramouleshwara in memory of her parents, was also inaugurated on the occasion.
Vijaya Chandramouleshwara, Trust Directors Kadabam Satish, R. Rajesh, K.K. Rajeshbabu, H.V. Nagendra Setty, B. Sriram Bhagawath, S. Srikant Gupta, K.G. Srinath and B. Vijayalakshmi Muralidhar, GSSS Hon.Secretary Vanaja Pandit and others were present.
