Bribe to provide land document: Surveyor trapped

Mysore/Mysuru: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police have trapped a Surveyor while accepting a bribe of Rs. 35,000 from a farmer to provide a new podi document for an agricultural land.

The Surveyor, who was caught while accepting the bribe is Manjunath. He was working in the Office of the Technical Assistant at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

A farmer from Hemmige village of Ravandur Hobli in Periyapatna taluk had submitted a application seeking cancellation of the old podi document pertaining to the agricultural land in Survey numbers 60/1 and 60/2 and issue a new podi document.

When the farmer visited the Office on July 19 and 25, Surveyor Manjunath demanded Rs. 35,000 bribe for issuing a new podi document. Fed up with the demand for bribe, the farmer, on July 29 lodged a complaint with the ACB Police, who decided to trap Surveyor Manjunath and caught him red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 35,000 near DFRL in Siddarthanagar.
