Broken manhole repaired near stadium

October 21, 2018

Mysuru:  Following publication of the news item titled ‘Manhole in front of Chamundi Vihar Stadium posing danger’ on Oct. 15 in Star of Mysore, the staff of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), have responded to the issue and have laid a new manhole, thus preventing future mishaps.

Due to heavy traffic on the road, the concrete cover of the  manhole was broken on Oct.14 and it was posing danger to motorists.

On Oct.14 night itself, three riders, unable to see the open manhole, lost control of their bikes and fell down sustaining injuries.

Following the publication of the report, MCC Health Officer Dr. G.M. Nagaraju took a team of workers and Pourakarmikas and relaid the manhole.

Meanwhile, commuters and local residents have appreciated the swift action taken by the MCC staff and also the newspaper for its concern.
