BSY officially launches BJP poll campaign in Nanjangud

Setting the tone for the BJP’s campaign for the prestigious Nanjangud bypoll, former CM and State BJP Chief B.S. Yeddyurappa this morning, launched the official poll campaign from Devanur in the taluk after seeking the blessings Devanur Mutt Seer Sri Mahanta Swamiji.

Later, addressing the gathering at Devanur, Yeddyurappa said the Nanjangud bypoll was a prestigious issue for him as he has the responsibility of getting the party candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad elected with a huge margin.

Maintaining that the Nanjangud and Gundlupet by poll results will be a pointer to the 2018 Assembly election, Yeddyurappa said people were actually the rulers in a democracy.

Terming the bypolls as people’s election, he appealed the electorate not to fall prey to the allurements of the Congress.

Accusing the Siddharamaiah Government of rampant misrule, the former CM said it was the BJP alone which could take the State on the path of development, he appealed the people to ensure that BJP candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad wins by a huge margin.

Earlier, Yeddyurappa upon his arrival at the town, visited Srikanteshwara temple and offered special prayers.

MPs B. Sriramulu and Shobha Karandlaje, party candidate V. Sreenivasa Prasad, former Ministers V. Somanna and Kote M. Shivanna, leaders A.R. Krishnamurthy, S. Mahadevaiah, U.N. Padmanabha Rao and others were present.
