BSY to leave for Davos on Jan.19

January 14, 2020

Bengaluru: Even as the issue of Cabinet expansion is haunting him, with all newly elected MLAs as well as defeated MLAs pressing for Cabinet berths, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa (BSY) is all set to leave for Davos in Switzerland for attending a global economic summit.

With the political coup of Congress and JD(S) Legislators quitting when the then Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy was away in USA to attend a Kannada Conference in July last still fresh in his mind, Yediyurappa was earlier reluctant to leave abroad. But the Prime Minister’s office is said to have persuaded to attend the summit, considering its importance in attracting investors to Karnataka on a large scale.

Following direction from the PMO, Yediyurappa will leave for Davos from Bengaluru on the night of Jan.19. With the CM leaving for Davos, the Cabinet expansion, which was expected to take place just after Sankranti will in all probability be delayed further, causing heartburn among the aspirants.
