Burglar arrested: Cash, milk products worth Rs. 1.52 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, on Feb. 4, have arrested a burglar and have recovered cash, silver anklet and milk products worth Rs. 1.52 lakh from him.

Following increased incidents of thefts by miscreants, who were burgling shops by forcibly opening the rolling shutters, a special team comprising CCB officers and staff was formed. The special team, on Jan. 4, took an accused into custody near Fountain Circle and on interrogation, the accused is said to have informed the Police that he had burgled a milk booth, medical shop and temples.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police recovered Rs. 1,32,850 cash, 10 litres Nandini Ghee, three boxes of Nandini Good Life milk, a pair of silver anklets, all worth Rs. 1.52 lakh, besides seizing a two-wheeler used for the crime.

Following the arrest, the Police have solved four cases in Saraswathipuram, two case in Vijayanagar and one case each in Nazarbad, Alanahalli and K.R. Police Stations and one case in Bengaluru’s Jagjeevan Nagar Police Station.

The Police also came to know that there were four burglary cases already registered against him at Narasimharaja (NR) and V.V. Puram Police Stations, one case each in Metagalli, Lashkar and Mysuru South Police Stations, two cases in Devaraja, six cases in Bannur, four in Srirangapatna, two in Pandavapura, four each in Bengaluru’s High Ground and Wilson Garden Police Stations, four in Hassan’s Pension Mohalla, five in Gorur and three cases in Hassan Town Police Station.

DCP (Crime and Traffic) S. Janhavi and CCB ACP Sandesh Kumar guided CCB Inspector C. Krishnakumar and staff Saleem Pasha, Govinda, Madhu, M.R. Ganesh, C. Umamahesh and Chikkanna in the nabbing and recovery operation.
