Burglar held; Gold jewellery worth Rs.6 lakh recovered

Mysuru: The CCB Police, who arrested a burglar on Thursday, have recovered gold jewellery worth Rs.6 lakh allegedly stolen by him from a house in Mandi Mohalla a couple of months ago.

The arrested has been identified as L. Venkatesh, 50, of M.M. Hills in Hanur taluk of Chamarajanagar district.

The Police, who picked up Venkatesh from his house at M.M. Hills on suspicion, interrogated him, when he confessed to have broken into a house in Mandi Mohalla in city, following which gold jewellery and silver articles worth Rs.6 lakh were recovered from him.

Venkatesh, who was a repeat offender, had come out of jail a few months ago, according to the Police.
