Burglary at city doctor’s house: Case handed over to CCB

May 10, 2019

Mysuru: The investigation into the burglary of the house of a city doctor’s house in Vijayanagar 4th Stage which took place last month, in which 5 kg of gold jewellery, over Rs. 11 lakh cash and other expensive valuables, totally worth nearly Rs. 2 crore, was stolen, has been handed over to the CCB.

The theft, which took place when Dr. Rajiv and his family were away, was reported on Apr. 11, following which the jurisdictional Vijayanagar Police conducted mahazar and registered a case.

Vijayanagar Police, who began investigation were unsuccessful in finding clues despite hectic efforts as the doctor had reportedly switched off the CCTV cameras installed in the house while leaving the city. As the Vijayanagar Police were busy in bandobust duty for Lok Sabha polls and as there was a long list of pending cases, City Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna has transferred the case to CCB (City Crime Branch) for further investigation.
