Businessman cheated of Rs. 15 lakh by real estate agent

Mysore/Mysuru: A real estate agent, who got a sale agreement done for a house which was already sold, has cheated a businessman of Rs. 15 lakh in city.

While the victim is Aravinda Shetty, a resident of Sowparnika Blue Bells Apartment in Vijayanagar 3rd Stage, the person, who cheated him, is a 38-year-old real estate agent from Udayagiri.

The real estate agent, claiming that House No. 150 at SBM Colony in Bogadi belongs to him, took Rs. 15 lakh from Aravinda Shetty and has also got a sale agreement done and gave it to Aravinda Shetty.

When Aravinda Shetty took the Encumbrance Certificate (EC) from the Sub-Registrar’s Office, he came to know that the real estate agent had already sold the house to one Satish on Jan. 11, 2018, following which Aravinda Shetty lodged a complaint at Saraswathipuram Police Station.
