April 28, 2019

Mysuru: What is Black Box in an aeroplane? Which metal is used to make an aeroplane? Can an aeroplane fly without a pilot? Can the so called flying car be used on a busy area? These were the simple intriguing questions volleyed at Aero Scientist Sudhindra Haldodderi by the children at Rangayana’s Chinnara Mela during an interaction on Wednesday.

Sudhindra explained in simpler terms the basic functional details of rocket launching, space technology, aeronautics, solar system and planetary motion.

He made clear to children that all the revolution in communication on the earth was the effect of space research. He briefed on the usage of satellites in TV, mobile network and internet. He explained the basis of launch of communication satellites.

Sudhindra recalled that the first satellite ‘Sputnik’ was launched by Russia way back in 1957, then USA, China and Japan followed suit. He said that a satellite can study the features of earth surface and also within earth. He commended Indian Scientists in independently launching a satellite to desired orbit in space.

Rangayana Director Bhagirathi Bai Kadam and Joint Director Mallikarjunaswamy were present.
