Yashaswini (SKIES), hogged the limelight on the second-day of the Canara Bank Cup State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament conducted by the MDTTA at the University Gymnasium Hall here by winning the junior and sub-junior girls singles titles to complete a fine double, here yesterday.

In the junior girls’ singles, top-seed G. Yashaswini staved off the challenge put up by second-seed Aditi P. Joshi (MSTTA) 11-9, 8-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11.13, 11-8, 11-7. Earlier in the day, Yashaswini beat D. Kalyani (SKIES) 11-5, 11-9, 11-9 and clinched the sub-junior girls singles title.

Second seed Rohan Jamadagni shocked the top-seed Neeraj Raj 8-11, 11-9, 11-5, 11-7, 4-11, 13-11 to clinch the Junior boys singles title.

The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. P. Krishniah, In-charge Director, Department of Physical Education, UoM. N.L. Shekar, President, Yogakshema Housing Co-operative Society, Rtn. B.G. Nagaraja, President, Rotary Ivory City, Sunil Baliga, President, MDTTA and Hemant Pitliya, Managing Trustee, Seth Sri Ghisulal Pitliya Charitable Trust were present.
