Captain G.S. Venkatesh (84), an ex-serviceman and a resident of Yadavagiri 2nd Main, passed away yesterday in city. After retiring from the Army, Venkatesh served as Superintendent of K.R. Hospital and Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Home Guards Commandant. He was also honoured with President’s Award.

He leaves behind his wife, two sons, daughters-in-law, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at Gokulam Burial Grounds this noon.
