Mysore/Mysuru: The 33rd Annual Carol Singing Competition, organised by Carmel Catholic Association (CCA), will be held on Dec. 14 (Sunday) at Teresian College auditorium in Siddarthanagar.

Announcing this at a press meet held at Patrakarthara Bhavan in city yesterday, CCA President Prof. Joseph Mathew said that this year’s competition will feature 12 categories from Pre-Primary levels to Colleges and Religious Congregations. Over 100 teams are expected to take part in the competition by singing carols in Kannada, English and other regional languages, he added.

Stating that the winners in each category will receive attractive trophies and cash prizes, he said that the institution securing the highest cumulative points will be awarded champions trophy.

Each team will consist of five to fifty members and will sing carols that share messages of peace, joy and unity, he added.

The competition will be inaugurated at 8.30 am by Managing Director of Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) S. Suhas, who will be present as the chief guest along with Bishop Emeritus of Mysore Diocese Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhappilly.

Provincial St. Pauls Province Mysore and CCA Patron Rev. Fr. Augustine Payampalli CMI and Executive Vice-Chairman of Kaynes Technology Ramesh Kunhikannan will be present as the guests of honour.

CCA President Prof. Joseph Mathew will preside.

The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony will be held at 6.30 pm the same day. Star of Mysore Managing Editor Vikram Muthanna will be the chief guest.

Mysore Diocesan Educational Society (MDES) Secretary Rev. Fr. Edward William Saldanha will deliver the valedictory address.

Vice-President (Works) of JK Tyre and Industries Ltd., V. Eswara Rao, Principal of Teresian College Sr. Dr. Rohini and Chief Human Resource Officer of Infosys Shaji Mathew will be present at the guests of honour.

CCA Vice-President Johnson Joseph, Treasurer Paul Antony, Secretary and Convenor M.K. Johnny and Committee Member Sade Bose were present at the press meet.
