Mysuru: An incident of miscreants making away with cash and liquor bottles has been reported from a bar located on Bengaluru-Nilgiri Road (B.N. Road).

The incident took place at Sundar Bar and Restaurant on Aug. 21. According to the Police, at 11 pm on the day of the incident, employees had called Vijayendra, the owner, to inform about the closure of the business for day. During the call, Vijayendra is said to have informed the employees not to remit the cash collected to the finance company but to keep the same in the drawer of cash counter.

Following the order, the cashier of the bar kept the day’s collection of Rs. 32,000 in the drawer and stocked the alcohol bottles before closing the bar. However, when the employees returned the next day at about 10 am, they found that the cash counter was open and the roofing sheets above the cash counter also removed.

The thieves had gained entry into the bar by removing the roofing sheets and had made away with the cash of Rs. 32,000 and liquor bottles worth Rs. 5,000.

Lashkar Police have registered a case and are investigating.
