Cauvery Neeravari Nigam contract workers seek equal pay for equal work

Mysuru: Outsourced employees of Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Ltd. (CNNL), under the banner of Karnataka State Government Daily Wage Workers Mahamandali, staged a demonstration in front of CNNL office at Manjunathapura in the city on Wednesday, urging the Government to fulfil their demands.

The demands included minimum wages, equal pay for equal work, PF, ESI and other mandatory benefits. The protesters also demanded that their salaries be credited directly to their bank accounts on the fifth of every month and job security for contractual and outsourced workers.

Mahamandali President Dr. K. Sharma, office-bearers G. Ramesh, Harish, N. Siddaiah, S.M. Jayashekar, G. Appaiah, Suresh, Narasegowda and others took part.
