Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics Training and Engineering Research launched

Mysuru: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Maharaja Institute of Technology (MIT) Mysuru inaugurated its ‘Centre of Excellence in Mechatronics Training and Engineering Research (CEMTER)’ at its premises here recently.

The CEMTER was inaugurated by Dr. N. Muthukumar, President and Whole-time Director-Automotive Axels Limited, Mysuru in the presence of P. Krishna Kumar, Vice President of Brakes India Limited,  Najangud, Dr. K.R. Prakash of NIE, Mysuru.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. B.G. Naresh Kumar, Principal of MIT and Trustee, Maharaja Education Trust complimented the Department of Mechanical Engineering for establishing such a state-of-the-art laboratory beyond the regular curriculum of university and promised to continue to support in all possible ways for future projects in the interest of serving the students community and uplifting the educational standards.

The CEMTER is equipped with several Mechatronics training kits of latest technology having provision to learn and conduct a number of experiments. The trainees can develop software algorithms and execute the same through electronic circuitry and sensors to activate various mechanisms and processing set ups. The curriculum is designed from the industrial requirements and application perspective.

The training programmes at CEMTER are designed to cater the needs of the industry in training industrial personnel on Mechatronics circuits and sensor assemblies.

In brief, the CEMTER is well composed with the facility to prepare the candidates on Automation and Robotics. The training centre is open for candidates and trainees of other   educational organisations as well from the industry.
