CESC outsourced employees stage demonstration

Mysuru: Seeking fulfilment of their various demands, CESC out sourced employees, under the banner of CITU affiliated Karnataka State Electricity Workers Federation staged a demonstration in front of CESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation) office in Vijayanagar here yesterday.

The demands include regularisation of service of all contract employees, equal pay for equal work and minimum wages of Rs. 18,000, among others.

Maintaining that outsourced employees were doing work on par with regular employees, the protestors urged CESC to grant all statutory benefits such as ESI, PF, Bonus etc., safety measures during work, minimum wages, T.A. (Travel allowance) and daily allowance to meter readers and allotment of available empty residential quarters to contract employees.

Earlier, they marched in a procession from Aishwarya Petrol Bunk on Hunsur road to Vijayanagar CESC office.

Federation office-bearers H. Suresh, Umashankar, Manohar and others took part.
