Woman chain lifter arrested

Mysuru: A woman, who had snatched a gold chain and was attempting to flee from the spot was caught by the public at City Bus Stand here on Wednesday and handed her over to the Police.

On Wednesday evening, a woman identified as Kendagannamma was boarding a bus at City Bus Stand when the chain lifter managed to yank of Kendagannamma’s gold chain in the rush and tried to flee from the spot.

Meanwhile, a few members of the public, who saw the chain lifter yanking off the gold chain and trying to flee, caught hold of her and handed her over to Devaraja Police. Devaraja Police, who registered a case based on the complaint, began to interrogate the chain lifter, who told that her name was Meenakshi and pretended that she did not know Kannada. 

When the Police intensified the interrogation, Meenakshi is said to have told the Police that she knew Kannada, Hindi, Marathi and other languages.

The Police who have suspected Meenakshi’s involvement in other crimes are investigating.
