CESC takes up overhead power lines conversion works

May 5, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited has taken up the conversion of overhead power lines into underground power cables and the work is in progress across the city.

The conversion works are taken up to prevent any damages caused to the power lines due to trees falling on overhead power lines during rains and gusty winds and also to minimise the loss to CESC.

Replacement of damaged poles, transformers

Following heavy rains in and around the city on Sunday night, about 200 electric poles and 13 transformers have been damaged resulting in power disruption at many places. The power supply to the affected places would be restored soon and the works to replace the damaged electric poles and transformers would also be taken up, according to a press release from CESC Superintending Engineer K.M. Munigopalaraju.
