Chairmen for MCC Standing Committees elected

Mysuru: The following were elected as Chairmen of the four MCC Standing Committees is the election held at the MCC’s Old Council Hall here this morning.

Ward No. 58 Corporator K.P. Ashwini was elected as Chairperson of Taxes, Finance and Appeals Standing Committee.

The members of the Committee are Rajalakshmi (Ward No. 37), M.K. Shankar (Ward 16), Shivakumar (Ward 2), Fairoz Khan (Ward 53), D. Nagabushan (Ward 34) and Umamani (Ward 11).

Senior Corporator K.T. Cheluvegowda (Ward 27) was elected as Chairman of Public Health, Education and Social Justice Standing Committee.

The members of the Committee are C.S. Rajini (Ward 56), M. Ramesh (Ward 29), B.V. Manjunath (Ward 1), T. Ramu (Ward 42), Purushottam (Ward 7) and R. Ravindra Kumar (Ward 41). Ward 15 Corporator S. Balasubramanya (Snake Shyam) was elected as Chairman of City Planning and Improvement Standing Committee.

The members of the Committee are C. Ramesh (Ward 38), M. Shivanna (Ward 26), Kempanna (Ward 13), N. Sunil Kumar (Ward 4), Ayaz Pasha (Pandu) – Ward 54) and Rathnamma (Ward 5).

Ward No. 32 Corporator SBM Manju has been elected as Chairman of Accounts Standing Committee. The members of the Committee are B.K. Pushpavathi (Ward 45), G.H. Vanitha (Ward 65), Ayub Khan (Ward No. 52), J.S. Jagadish (Ward 22), R. Lingappa (Ward 20) and Pushpalatha (Ward 24).

The term of all the Committees will end on Sept. 4, 2018.

It may be mentioned here that Congress rebel candidate B. Bhagyavathi (Ward 23) was elected as Mayor and M. Indira (Ward 61) was elected as Deputy Mayor in the Mayoral polls held on Jan. 24.
