Chamaraja Constituency is JD(S) stronghold: MLC K.T. Srikantegowda

Mysuru:  Stating that Chamaraja Assembly segment is a strong hold of JD(S), MLC K.T. Srikantegowda has asserted that JD(S) candidate Prof. K.S. Rangappa was going to win the seat in the forthcoming Assembly polls. Speaking at the party’s public contact (Janasamparka) programme at Kamadhenu Kalyana Mantap behind ESI Hospital on KRS Road here yesterday, he said that the JD(S) has a strong presence in the district, having gained control of the MCC, ZP and TP. Claiming that there was a wave in favour of JD(S) State President and former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy, Srikantegowda reiterated that Prof. Rangappa’s victory was certain in Chamaraja Constituency.

Former UoM and KSOU Vice-Chancellor and JD(S) candidate from Chamaraja Constituency Prof. K.S. Rangappa, in his address, said that H.D. Kumaraswamy had many ideas to address agrarian, unemployment and other such issues which have been haunting the State.

Noting that the people have seen the administration of both the National parties — Congress and BJP — he said that people were looking at H.D. Kumaraswamy with hope for addressing their problems.

Explaining the priorities of the JD(S) if the party was voted to power, Prof. Rangappa appealed the electorate to bless him in the forthcoming polls.

N.R. Constituency JD(S) candidate Abdul Azeez (Abdulla), in his address, said that he was contesting the polls after a long gap of 24 years.

Recalling his contest against the then heavy weight Aziz Sait in N.R. Constituency, he said that he was grateful to H.D. Kumaraswamy for allotting him the JD(S) ticket from N.R. Constituency.

Maintaining that he had one aim of making H.D. Kumaraswamy as the CM, Abdulla appealed the party workers to work with unity for ensuring the victory of JD(S) candidates in all Assembly segments of the State.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Ananthu, who spoke, said that the BSP has aligned with the JD(S) to defeat the two National parties in the forthcoming Assembly polls. He further said that BSP workers will actively campaign for JD(S) candidates and thus ensure the victory of the alliance in the Assembly polls.

City JD(S) Women’s Wing President Prema Shankaregowda and former Mayor M.J. Ravikumar too addressed the party workers. MLC Appajigowda, Corporators K.T. Cheluvegowda and SBM Manju, leaders Qamaruddin, Somashekar, Manjunath, Pankajamma, K.G. Mahesh and others were present.
