Our country is going through ‘single man’ appeasing. Our people have got hypnotized by the false promises made by this single man. At this juncture, it is very important that we recognize the rational thinkers like Mr. Chandrashekhara Patil, commonly known as ‘Champa’. In a democracy it is important to have critics to ruling regime. People should not become ‘praisers’ all the time to whatever a ‘single’ person does. When such a person commits mistakes we all should make him understand that he has committed mistake. This person committed a great mistake no.1 in November 2016, he again committed 2nd mistake during July 2017. These two big mistakes resulted in loss of lakhs of jobs particularly in the unorganized sector of our country. People in unorganized sectors include garment workers, real estate sector, small businesses etc., and they have no voice against the Govt’s decisions unlike organized sectors such as Govt. Workers.
Champa is the best selection for Kannada Sahitya Sammelana, in these times of intolerance. People must listen to Champa’s speeches and then understand his caliber. He has been a supporter of secularism (Which Constitution has accepted), Democratic values, respect for plural society, plural culture, tolerance to others, freedom of speech and expression etc., isn’t that enough for a great personality like Mr. Champa?
