Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda visits PHCs, reviews its functioning

Mysore/Mysuru: In the wake of surge in Corona positive cases and deaths in Chamundeshwari Assembly Constituency, MLA G.T. Devegowda visited various Covid Care Centres and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and inspected the treatment and medicines being given to patients and also cleanliness at the centres.

First, he visited Doddakaanya Covid Care Centre and inspected the arrangements. Later, he interacted with ASHA workers and asked them to take care of their health too as they visit the houses of Corona positive patients to distribute medicines and health enquiry. They were told to follow the Corona protocol strictly.

Later, he visited Beerihundi and  Jayapura PHCs and distributed health kits to ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers and Health Department staff.

Mysuru-Chamarajanagar District Co-operative Central Bank President G.D. Harish Gowda, Tahsildhar K.R. Rakshith and others were present.

PDO taken to task

Doddakaanya Gram Pan-chayat Development Officer (PDO) was taken to task by MLA G.T. Devegowda following complaints of opening of hotels and shops during lockdown period.

The MLA said how was it possible to control the contagion if permission was given to open the shops and hotels even after lockdown relaxation hours. The PDO must cancel licence  of those shops which have flouted rules permanently. The support of Police Department must be taken to enforce the Government guidelines strictly, Devegowda added.
