Chamundeshwari Puja Mahotsava begins

Mysuru: The Bhavasar Kshatriya Sri Chamundeshwari Yuvakara Bhakta Mandali, East Cross, Ashoka Road, Lashkar Mohalla, will be conducting Sri Chamundeshwari Puja Mahotsava from today (July 23) till July 27.

Today, on the first day, idol consecration and Mahamangalarathi were performed in the morning.

Tomorrow (July 24), Bhavasar Kshatriya Mahila Mandali will be presenting Bhajans at 6 pm, following which there will be fancy dress contest for children at 7 pm. Those interested in participating may contact Mob: 86607-04625 for registration.

On July 25, mass feeding at 1 pm and the donors will be felicitated. Orchestra will be performing at 6.30 pm.

On July 26, there will be a free health check-up camp to be conducted by DRM Hospital at 10.30 am. At 7 pm, Harikatha on ‘Chamundeshwari  Mahatme’ by Vid. Shivakumar Shastri, following which the winners of the fancy dress contest will be felicitated and 100 students will be distributed note books. The beneficiaries must contact Mob: 98861-31244.

On July 27, the final day, the idol of the Presiding Deity will be immersed at Cauvery River near Nimishamba Temple, Ganjam, Srirangapatna, at 12 noon.

Chamundeshwari Jatra Mahotsava

Sri Chamundeshwari Bhakta Mandali, Karakushalanagar, Metagalli, too will be conducting Chamundeshwari Jatra Mahotsava from July 23 to July 27.

There will be cultural programmes on July 24, 25 and 26 in the evenings.

Dr. Rajkumar Musical Group will present devotional songs at 7 pm on July 24.

Artistes from Metagalli will perform a Mythological play titled ‘Kurukshetra’ at 8 pm on July 25 and Nagesh Kiran Melodies will present Orchestra at 7 pm on July 26.

The idol of the presiding deity will be taken out in a procession on the main roads of the locality at 5.45 pm on July 27, following which the Mahakalasha will be immersed at Srirangapatna.
