Chamundeshwari temple ticket scam: Three suspended

Mysuru:  The Board of Management of Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill on Monday, suspended three employees in connection with the Rs. 6.79 lakh computerised ticket scam.

Temple Parupattedar M.D. Raju and staff Anand and Prakash are the suspended employees.

The three were accused of misappropriating Rs.6.79 lakh in the issuance of temple entry ticket in April and May this year. As soon as the scam was unearthed, the temple CEO had submitted a report to the Deputy Commissioner (DC), following which the DC had directed for the suspension of the three employees.

Meanwhile, the scam has taken a curious turn, with one of the suspended staff Anand, a Goplalaka of the temple accusing Parupattedar M.D. Raju of misusing his computer password to embezzle Rs. 1,13,700.  Anand is said to have lodged a complaint with the jurisdictional K.R. Police in this regard. The K.R. Police, based on the complaint have registered an NCR and are investigating.
