Kodagu flood victim families to get Rs. 50,000 each

Bengaluru:  The State Cabinet which met here last evening, decided to provide a compensation of Rs. 50,000 to each of the over thousand families who lost their homes in Kodagu district due to floods and landslides.

While 186 homes were completely damaged, 530 houses were greatly damaged and 404 were partially damaged in last month’s natural disaster which struck Kodagu.

The Cabinet, taking note of the extent of devastation caused by the natural calamity, decided to release Rs. 50,000 out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, to each of the flood affected families. The compensation will be distributed to the affected families through the Kodagu Deputy Commissioner.
