Mysuru: As part of Dasara festival, Chitra Santhe and Hasiru Santhe will be held on Krishnaraja Boulevard in city tomorrow (Oct.5) from 9 am.
Announcing this at a press meet at his office here yesterday, DC Abhiram G.Sankar said that the Chitra Santhe-Hasiru Santhe has been organised jointly by the District Administration, Tourism Department, Dasara Tourism Sub-Committee and Agriculture Department. Pointing out that the event will take place from 9am to 5 pm tomorrow, the DC said that traffic movement on the stretch from Oriental Research Institute to Maharaja’s College Grounds (near Ursu Boarding School) has been banned during the event.
Continuing, the DC said that the Chitra Santhe will feature painting, drawing, photography, sand art, calligraphy, face painting, murals and paintings on Swachhata awareness. Hasiru Santhe will feature workshops, rangageetha, folk singing, magic show and dance forms.
Noting that the event will have 100 stalls, the DC said that organic grains, millets and cereals will be available for sale. The event also features two sessions of cultural programmes from 10 am to 11.30am and from 3 to 5pm, he added. He further said that traffic movement on KR Boulevard will be restored after 5 pm for the benefit of Yuva Dasara and Aahara Mela visitors.
Traffic diversion on KR Boulevard
With Chitra Santhe and Hasiru Santhe taking place, City Police have banned the movement of all vehicles on the stretch (South wards) from Kautilya Circle to Ekalavya Circle tomorrow (Oct. 5) from 9 am to 5 pm.
Vehicles arriving at Kautilya Circle have to pass through MUDA Circle to touch JLB Road and proceed further.
Vehicles arriving at Ekalavya Circle have to pass through Chamaraja Double Road to reach Ramaswamy Circle and proceed further.
