Chutuku Sahitya Parishat distributes books

August 1, 2023

Mysore/Mysuru: Taking forward its plans for the cause of public education, the Chutuku Sahitya Parishat distributed books to members of the public at a programme organised at Krishnadhama in Saraswathipuram here yesterday.

Speaking after launching book distribution, Udupi Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji said book donation is a noble service. Pointing out that books are symbolic of our culture, he said that the book distribution initiative of the Parishat will not only help increase the number of readers, but also helps  people gain knowledge.

Noting that literature is a blend of words and their meaning, the Seer said that Goddess Saraswathi, who is known as the Goddess for education, must be pleased with the Parishat’s efforts of distributing literature books. Stating that the book distribution drive which is launched from Krishnadhama will culminate at Pejawar Mutt in Udupi, he said that is befitting that the book launch which started at Mysuru’s Krishnadhama will culminate at Udupi  Pejawar Mutt, the abode of Lord Krishna.

Former Minister S.S. Patil, in his address, said that the late Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji was a ‘Guru’ of the downtrodden. Maintaining that the Seer was a spiritual leader  of all castes and communities, he said that the late Seer treated everyone who visited the Mutt with respect.

Recalling his visit to the Mutt when he was a Minister, Patil said he has come to Mysuru to seek the blessings of the present Seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Teertha Swamiji.

Chutuku Sahitya Parishat Convenor Krishnamurthy Kulkarni, office-bearers Ramesh and Raghupathi Bhat, Lecturer Srikanth Kalasapura and others were present on the occasion.
