City advocate demands revocation of ZP CEO’s transfer

September 5, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging a larger plot in the shunting out of  Mysuru ZP CEO Prashanth Kumar Mishra, who was transferred following the row over the suicidal death of Nanjangud Taluk Health Officer (THO) Dr.S.R. Nagendra a fortnight ago, city-based Advocate Chidananda has urged the Government to revoke Mishra’s transfer order immediately and reinstate him as Mysuru ZP CEO.

Addressing a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Chidananda said that he was sorry for the demise of THO Dr. Nagendra. But the happenings that followed after his death and the subsequent transfer of Mishra reeks of politics, he alleged. Maintaining that the FIR lodged in respect of THO Dr. Nagendra’s death said that the Doctor had appealed the DC, DHO, ZP CEO and Tahsildar for providing facilities to Nanjangud Hospital and there was no action on his appeal, he said that only the then ZP CEO Mishra was unfairly targeted by the Government, which transferred him without bothering to ascertain all the facts.

Reiterating that there is a larger plot and politics behind the transfer of Mishra, who worked tirelessly for stopping the spread of the deadly COVID-19, he asserted that Mishra was not responsible for the death of  Dr. Nagendra, who he said had taken an unnecessary and hasty step.

Claiming that Mishra was an honest officer with humanistic values and concerns, Chidananda demanded the Government to revoke the transfer Order at once and re-instate Mishra as Mysuru ZP CEO for the sake of the people of Mysuru, who are eagerly awaiting his continued service.
