Mysuru: A city advocate was killed on the spot, when the vehicle he was driving reportedly crashed into a median and toppled at Seegehalli Gate near Bilikere on Hunsur road in the wee hours of today. The deceased advocate has been identified as Balakrishna (42), son of Sreenivasa Gowda and a resident of Manchegowdanakoppal (M.G. Koppal), Hebbal in city.
Balakrishna, along with his friends Hucchegowda and Narayana, both residents of M.G. Koppal, left Mysuru yesterday night towards Hunsur in his Mahindra NuvoSport SUV (KA-09-MD-4118).
When they neared Seegehalli Gate near Bilikere at about 2 am, Balakrishna, who was behind the wheels, reportedly lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and crashed into the median, toppled thrice before coming to a standstill killing Balakrishna on the spot and injuring the two occupants.
Though the SUV toppled thrice, the air bags installed in the vehicle failed to open, it is learnt.
Passersby, who came across the accident spot, shifted the injured Hucchegowda and Narayana to K.R. Hospital, where they were treated as outpatients.
Meanwhile, Bilikere Police, who rushed to the spot on information at about 3.30 am, conducted mahazar and shifted the body of Balakrishna to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.
The body of the deceased advocate was handed over to his family members after post-mortem this noon. Bilikere Police, who have registered a case in this regard are investigating.
It may be recalled that Balakrishna’s brother’s son Sujjan, had died in an accident near Periyapatna, when he allegedly rammed the bike he was riding into a parked lorry resulting in Sujjan and the pillion rider being killed on the spot.
The incident had taken place in April this year.
