Mysuru and Bengaluru artistes jointly staged the play ‘Dana Shoora Karna’ written by M.S. Rama Swamy at Ramanathapura Sri Pattabhirama Rural High School premises under the aegis of Sri Hanyalamma Youth Association, Hanyal, Hassan, recently. The drama was directed by H. S. Govinde Gowda of Mysuru city.
The troupe included W.H. Shantha Kumar (Karna), Akki Hebbal Nagaraj (Krishna), H.S. Govinde Gowda (Duryodhana), H.S. Shankar (Bhima), S.V. Nanjundappa (Arjuna), Malla Shetty (Devendra), Dr. N.N. Prahallada (Parashurama, Agni, Somadatta and Shalya), Vasuki (Yama and Bhishma), Kupya Venkataram (Vidhura and Maya Indra), Chikkaleela (Drowpadhi), Shanthamma (Kunthi), Hulikal Nagaraj (Narada), H.J. Manu (Vrushakethu), Tiptur Rajeshwari (Somaprabha), Radha (Radhe), M.S. Roopa (Malli), Hejje Gejje Udaya Kumar (Malla), M.K.S. Raju (Aswathamma), Janatha Bazar Ramaiah (Athiratha), Mahadeva (Drona), Lingannaiah (Dhusyashana), H.L. Shivabasappa (Shurthdhari). Stage decoration, make-up and Dress was by Sri Nataraja Group of Saligrama. Music was scored by Vid. Kiragasoor Rajappa, clarinet by Vid. D. Ramu, casio by H.P. Nagendra Prasad and tabla by Jayaram.
