City Colleges host IT, Management Fests

Mysore/Mysuru: The IT and Management Fest of Seshadripuram Degree College — ‘Samrudhi’ and ‘Techshedz’ 2020 — was held at the College premises in Hebbal here recently.

The Fest was officially inauguration by N. Archana Swamy, Principal, Seshadripuram Independent PU College (SIPUC) and Prof. K. Sowmya Erappa, Principal, Seshadripuram Degree College (SDC).

Students from various Degree Colleges across Mysuru district participated in the Fest. The student volunteers led the participants to different venues where various events were organised. 

There were a number of fascinating events both in IT and Management including De La Finance, Marketing, Best Manager, Foodism, Short Film, Coding, Web Designing, Assembling, Treasure Hunt and Quiz. 

Mini Cricket was the most attractive event which garnered diverse teams from across streams. Prizes were distributed during the valedictory held in the evening.

MICA College emerged Overall Champions of the Management events and St. Joseph’s First Grade College emerged Overall Champions of the IT events. 

The winners of all the events were given certificates, trophies and cash prizes. All the participants of the Fest were distributed with participation certificates.

SDM-IMD’s Naissance

Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDM-IMD), Mysuru, inaugurated its flagship B-School Management Fest ‘Naissance 2020 — Battle of the Zodiac Signs’ with Mysuru Superintend of Police (SP) C.B. Ryshyanth and H.S. Nagesh of Vijaya Bank-Mysuru as the chief guests. 

Dr. H. Gayathri, Deputy Director of SDMIMD, welcomed the gathering. Student Co-ordinator Sristi Roy Chowdhury gave a brief about the theme of ‘Naissance 2020 — Battle of the Zodiac Signs’ which revolved around the management lessons and principles to be derived from Signs of Zodiac which battle to prove their mettle.

The students from Christ University, Bengaluru, emerged Winners of Naissance-2020 by their outstanding performance in various events — Aquarius (Toastmaster Event), Libra (Entrepreneurship Skills Event), Gemini (HR Event), Capricorn (Systems/ IT Event), Scorpion (Marketing) organised as a part of the Management Fest.

Christech-20 by Christ College

A State-level Inter-Collegiate Science Fest ‘Christech-20’ was organised in the Department of Computer Science and Mathematics at Christ College, Mysuru.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. K.R. Prakash, Professor and Head, Centre for Automation Technology, National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, who delivered a technical talk on Applications of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence. 

He highlighted on the working principles and theory of robotics, programming of machine, product design in artificial intelligence and Robot operating systems. 

Principal of Christ College, Rev. Fr. P.D. Biju, presided over the programme.

In his presidential address, Fr. Biju advised the students to explore their knowledge in artificial intelligence and enhance their skill-set. 

Rev. Fr. K.A. Suraj, Academic Co-ordinator, Heads of Department — Prof. Reena Sebastian and Prof. T.T. Sowmya — and faculties made their presence. 

Students from many colleges participated in various events like coding, science exhibition, photo editing and panel discussion and showcased their talents.

Valedictory session proceeded with Dr. K.S. Manjunatha, Head of the Computer Science Department, Maharani’s Science College, Mysuru, who advised students to set their goals and find the path with passion. 

Winners and participants of the events were rewarded during the valedictory session.
