City MMA athletes shine in National Championship

Mysuru: Nine MMA athletes of the Academy of Martial Science (AMS) and SMITE MAA, representing the State at the 8th MMA India National Championships organised by Madhya Pradesh MMA Association at Dhar, Madhya Pradesh recently, bagged 4 Gold, 3 Silver and a Bronze medal.

More than 300 athletes took part in youth, junior and senior level competitions. The team was a part of 16-member contingent drawn from various parts of Karnataka which ended up in 5th position in the points table.

R. Namrata – Female Youth B, 58 kg div – Silver Medal;  Samarth Vikram – Junior Bantam weight – Silver Medal; Shreeshan Dharmaveera – Junior Welter weight – Gold Medal; Sudhan Jain – Junior Feather weight – Bronze Medal; Aanya Anil – Youth D1, 30kg div – Gold Medal;  Sihaan – Youth D1, 25kg div – Silver Medal; Prahalad – Youth D1, 25kg div – Gold Medal; Arhan – Youth D1, 30kg div – Gold Medal and Suprith Srikanta – Feather Weight – Quarter Finalist.
