Immediate attention needed on messy Bogadi Main Road

January 22, 2025

Sir,

I have been staying in Bogadi from 2004 and have been very personally witnessing the civic developments that have taken place since then till date — one of the best well-connected wide roads from Southern part of city to Northern part and finally leading over to Ring Road junction.

The presence of commercial shops of all kinds on either side of  the Bogadi Main Road speaks about the status of the  real estate and the density of the growing population.

The traffic along the Main Road and the Cross Roads leading into the inner residential layouts and the extensions on either side is factually causing severe chaos.

There is always a sense of insecurity experienced by the vehicle drivers and the pedestrians walking on the available path alongside.

Bogadi Main Road is one of the most important roads today because of its long connectivity of the two  ends of Mysuru. The traffic is therefore very high at all times of the day.

Regretfully, there is no traffic discipline since there are no traffic signal posts at important points like near ‘Harsha Bar Junction’  and ‘Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt Cross.’

In other words, after the traffic signal post present at the All India Institute of Speech & Hearing (AIISH), there are no signal posts till the Ring Road.

And factually, at any point of time, one can find huge traffic flow of all kinds between these two junctions.

Many a time, there have been severe accidents causing injury and death.

Added to this, the street-lights required to be in the centre median of the road to facilitate light on both sides of the road,  are laid with light post on one side only.

The other side is hence always dark and poses danger with possibility of casualty.

I request  the authorities  concerned to immediately provide traffic signal posts at these two mentioned points (Harsha Bar junction and Mata Amritanandamayi Mutt)  to  facilitate  disciplined and safe movement of the traffic and thereby easing the congestion.
