City Police issue guidelines for festivals

Mysore/Mysuru: With the COVID pandemic continuing to cause havoc across the State, the city Police have issued guidelines for celebration of festivals such as Vaikunta Ekadashi and Sankranti in the month of January.

Accordingly, pujas and other associated rituals concerning the respective festivals will be performed in accordance with customary practices only inside the temple precincts. Also, only such devotees who have received two doses of COVID vaccine will be allowed inside the temple in groups not exceeding 50 devotees at a time.

Sevas in temples are disallowed. Besides, processions, entertainment programmes or other such activities are not allowed. Legal action will be initiated against persons who are found violating the festival guidelines, according to a press release from the Office of the City Police  Commissioner.
